About Us
Union Trades Federal Credit Union began in
1972 as the Plumbers & Steamfitters
Federal Credit Union. The Credit Union was
founded by union member, "Bones Garrett", with
the help of 15 brother Pipefitters from Local
565.
In 2001, the credit union changed its name to Union Trades Federal Credit Union and opened the field of membership to include several Building & Construction Unions in the Mid-Ohio and Kanawha Valleys. In 2006, the credit union was granted an open community charter by the NCUA and is now able to serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Wood County, WV or Washington County, OH. By adding new services and additional branches in Charleston, WV and Huntington, WV we are better equipped to meet the needs of our members.
